Iran opposes A-bomb, Ahmadinejad tells Japan ex-PM

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed to visiting former Japanese premier Yukio Hatoyama on Sunday that Tehran opposes nuclear weapons, his official website reported.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is fundamentally opposed to the atomic bomb and weapons of mass destruction,” Ahmadinejad told Hatoyama.

“Iran and Japan can exert a common effort to create a world without atomic weapons ... Difficult but humanitarian efforts will win in the end.”

Qatar opposes ‘any military attack’ on Iran, says PM

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al-Thani has said his country, which hosts the U.S. Central Command, would oppose any military attack against Iran.

“The Iranians and the Americans know that Qatar rejects any military action against Iran,” he said in an interview with the Doha-based Al-Jazeera, excerpts of which were broadcast Wednesday.

Sheikh Hamad, who also holds the foreign affairs portfolio, said the energy-rich nation will not allow the use of its territory for attacks on the Islamic republic.

An Iranian atom bomb will force Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt to acquire their own atom bombs. Thus a multipolar nuclear arena will be established in the most volatile region on earth. Report: US offers Israel advanced arms for not attacking Iran

The US has proposed that Israel withhold from waging an assault on Iran till the next presidential term in America in exchange for most advanced weaponry, reports the Israeli Maariv newspaper. However,the White House denies the claim.

The proposal was supposedly made during the visit of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, the newspaper says, citing unnamed diplomats and intelligence sources.
