Caviar enthusiasts gather for Riyadh exhibition

Riyadh is hosting one of the biggest gatherings of caviar enthusiasts, where hundreds have come to sample products worth up to 1 million Saudi riyals ($270,000) per kilogram.

Managed by three young Saudis, the caviar is being touted as a source of vitamins and male sexual potency.

“Many people don’t know much about caviar. They mostly think it’s only consumed by rich people and has no health benefits,” Golden Caviar CEO Abdullaziz al-Jowai’ai told Al Arabiya.

Buraidah Date Festival draws 800,000 visitors

More than 800,000 people have visited the Buraidah Date Festival over the past 55 days, which has brought in about SR 600 million in sales, said Khalid Al-Naqeedan, CEO of the festival.

During the 90-day festival, around 300,000 tons of dates will be sold, reaching a combined sales figure of more than SR 1 billion. Last year the festival saw sales reaching SR 800 million.

First Islamic museum in Australia to open in 2013

Australia's first Islamic museum will open in the Australian capital of Melbourne in 2013.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency correspondent on Tuesday, Moustafa Fahour, the founder of the Australia Islamic Museum, said that they decided to arise the Islamic art via establishing the museum.

Stating that two and half years back, they began erecting the museum, "Foundation of the building was laid in May 2012. Maronites, Christians, Buddhists and Hindus were attended the ground-breaking ceremony. Works have been proceeding," said Fahour.

The Foundation for Islamic Art, which boasts oneof the world's most important collections of Islamic Art at its 5-acre Shangra La estate in Honolulu Hawaii, is exhibiting works outside the estate for the first time.

A selection of the artifacts assembled by the Foundation's creator, Doris Duke, is on tour for the first time, starting at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. "Doris Duke’s Shangri La: Architecture, Landscape and Islamic Art" opened Friday to celebrate the year of her 100th birthday and runs through 6 January 2012.

‘Sultans of Science’ exhibition thrills 1.2 million in Thailand

The “Sultans of Science” exhibition thrilled 1.2 million visitors to the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center in Thailand.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened the “National Science and Technology Fair 2012,” a traveling exhibition from UAE.

Plodprasop Suraswadi, Thai Minister of Science and Technology, joined Pichai Sonchaeng, President, and Thanakorn Palachai, Vice President, of the National Science Museum, and exhibition creator Ludo Verheyen, CEO of MTE Studios Dubai, at the opening ceremony.

The Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah in coordination with the country's Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized a two-day tourism exhibition at Aziz Mall last weekend.

The participation of 23 Malaysian universities in the four-day third international education conference and exhibition in the Saudi capital is testament to the high-quality education they offer, according to Malaysian Ambassador Syed Omar Al-Saggaf.

Replicas of Two Holy Mosques added to Makkah exhibition

Two magnificent replicas of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah have been added to an exhibition opened in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The replicas are a three dimensional presentation of the two mosques after completion of their expansion work.

The replicas are showcased at the Two Holy Mosques Exhibition in the Umm Al-Joud district on the old Makkah-Jeddah road close to the Kiswa factory, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.
