Prophet Hud [Eber (P.B.U.H.)]

PROPHET HUD [EBER (P.B.U.H.)]
What Quran said about him?

And unto (the tribe of) A'ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah! You have no other Allah save Him. Lo! You do but invent. • O my people! I ask of you no reward for it. Lo! My reward is the concern only of Him Who made me. Have you then no sense? • And, O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord; then turn unto Him repentant; He will cause the sky to rain abundance on you and will add unto you strength to your strength. Turn not away, guilty! [Surah Hud (Chapter of Hud), Verses 50-52]

… Will you not ward off (evil)? • Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, • So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. [Surah Al-Shu'arah (Chapter of the Poets), Verses 124-126]
Build you on every high place a monument for vain delight? • And seek you out strongholds that haply you may last for ever? • And if you seize by force, seize you as tyrants? • Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. • Keep your duty toward Him Who has aided you with (the good things) that you know, • has aided you with cattle and sons. • And gardens and water springs. • Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day.[Surah Al-Shu'arah (Chapter of the Poets), Verses 128-135]

And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eats of that whereof you eat and drinks of that you drink. • If you were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! You surely would be losers. • Does he promise you that you, when you are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? • Begone, begone, with that which you are promised! • There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). • He is only a man who has invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him.[Surah Al-Mu'minun (Chapter of the Believers), Verses 33-38]

… O Hud! You have brought us no clear proof and we are not going to forsake our gods on your (mere) saying, and we are not believers in you. [Surah Hud (Chapter of Hud), Verse 53]

…It is all one to us whether you preach or are not of those who preach; • This is but a fable of the men of old, • And we shall not be doomed. [Surah Al-Shu'arah (Chapter of the Poets), Verses 136-138]

We say naught save that one of our gods has possessed you in an evil way. He said: I call Allah to witness, and do you (too) bear witness, that I am innocent of (all) that you ascribe as partners (to Allah) • Beside Him. So (try to) circumvent me, all of you, give me no respite. • Lo! I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Not an animal but He does grasp it by the forelock! Lo! My Lord is on a Straight Path. • And if you turn away, still I have conveyed unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you; and my Lord will set in place of you a folk other than you. You cannot injure Him at all. Lo! My Lord is Guardian overall things. [Surah Hud (Chapter of Hud), Verses 54-57]

And they denied him… [Surah Al-Shu'arah (Chapter of the Poets), Verse 139]

He (the Prophet) said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. • He (Allah) said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. [Surah Al-Mu'minun (Chapter of the Believers), Verses 39-40]

Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, • Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. • Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings![Surah Qamar (Chapter of the Moon), Verses 19-21]

Then after them We brought forth other generations. • No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. • Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! [Surah Al-Mu'minun (Chapter of the Believers), Verses 42-44]

Can you (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them?[Surah Al-Haqqah (Chapter of the Indubitable), Verse 8]

Lo! Your Lord is ever Watchful. [Surah Al-Fajr (Chapter of the Dawn), Verse 14]
