Naqshbandi Qutb Shaykh Mahmud Afandi ad-Daghestani
Mahmood Afandi (may Allah sanctify his soul), great shaykh, Qutb, Murshid of the Naqshbandi tariqah was born approximately in 1810, in the village of Almalo (Dagestani village, now Azerbaijani territory).
In his youth he served as a clerk at khans Danial Sultanali and his relative Hajji Agabekov. They both were admired by the talents and wit of Mahmud Afandi(may Allah sanctify his soul).

There is a hadith which says that worthy people can be appreciated only by worthy ones. They say, when we mention pious people Allah grants us His blessings. So, hoping for Allah’s blessings, we are going to say few words about Imam Shamil.
Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller
Nuh Keller was born in 1954 and raised as a Roman Catholic in rural Washington State. He is a third-generation American of German ancestry on his father’s side, and German, Scottish, and Irish on his mother’s. During the 1970’s and 1980’s between his academic studies and work as a commercial fisherman in the North Pacific, he underwent a journey of reflection that culminated in his becoming Muslim. Nearly three decades later, he has become one of the most authoritative voices of traditional, moderate Islam in the English-speaking world.
