A new report has acknowledged that Australian Muslims are being discriminated against in workplace, the findings that added to the disappointment of the sizable minority.
"Muslim men have expressed concern that the negative portrayal of Muslims in the media may have a detrimental effect on the self-esteem of Muslim youth and also result in children being bullied at school," said the Newcastle University report, cited by The Herald Sun on Tuesday, November 13.

The convicted California scam artist behind a crude anti-Islam film that stoked protests against the United States across the Muslim world was sent back to jail for a year on Wednesday over probation violations stemming from his role in the video.
In a tightly guarded federal courtroom in Los Angeles, Mark Basseley Youssef admitted to using aliases and lying to his probation officer, breaching the terms of his supervised release from prison this year after serving time for bank fraud.
Muslims call for protection after French mosque attack

The French Muslim Council (CFCM) urged the government on Monday to ban a far-right group that occupied a mosque on Saturday.
CFCM President Mohammed Moussaoui said the Council also wanted better protection for mosques and Muslim cemeteries against racist attacks, which he said jumped sharply in 2011 and continued to rise this year.

Ten thousand Muslims protested outside Google's London HQ yesterday, in a bid to get an anti-Islamic video removed from YouTube.
The demonstrators want the internet giant to take down an offensive clip called The Innocence of Muslims, which mocks the Prophet Mohammed.
Police flanked the doors of the Google offices as thousands gathered outside holding placards.
And they say it is the first in a number of actions they plan to take to get the film banned.

Gunmen disguised in police uniforms opened fire on Muslim worshippers as they were leaving a mosque in northern Nigeria yesterday, killing at least 20 people, a local official said.
The attack happened in a remote village called Dogo Dawa, in Kaduna state, said Abdullahi Muhammad, the traditional ruler and councilor of Birnin Gwari, a local government area next door to the village.

Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, warned Wednesday not to generalize Islam as a negative force and called on believers of different faiths to reach out to one another.
On a lecture tour of the United States, the world’s best-known Buddhist monk said that every religion including his own had “mischievous” people and that he has made efforts to reach out to Muslims since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

A court in Russia’s region of Chechnya has banned the anti-Islamic film that sparked deadly protests across the Muslim world, a ruling that in theory should be observed across Russia.
The US-produced “Innocence of Muslims,” a film about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has led to massive demonstrations across the Muslim world although so far there have been no major demonstrations in Russia which is home to millions of Muslims.

An Egyptian-American man behind an anti-Islam film that has stoked protests across the Muslim world was arrested on Thursday in California for violating his probation, not anti-Islam video and a federal judge ordered him jailed without bond.
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was taken into custody at an undisclosed location by U.S. marshals and brought to court in Los Angeles still wearing his street clothes but handcuffed and shackled at the waist.
