Islam in Japan does not go very back in history compared to the other countries in the region. Japan is the latest country where Islam began spreading among other countries in the Far East.

Most of the historians say that Turk-Tatar relations were one of the main reasons on Islam's spreading in Japan.

There is a belief that a number of Muslims in Japan converted to Islam due to Tatars who immigrated to Japan a century ago.

Tokyo Mosque which was constructed by Turkey, is the center of Islam in Japan.

A secret Bible in which Jesus is believed to predict the coming of the Prophet Muhammad to Earth has sparked serious interest from the Vatican.

Pope Benedict XVI is claimed to want to see the 1,500-year-old book, which many say is the Gospel of Barnabas, that has been hidden by the Turkish state for the last 12 years.

The £14million handwritten gold lettered tome, penned in Jesus' native Aramaic language, is said to contain his early teachings and a prediction of the Prophet's coming.

Before the Arab invasion Dagestan was divided into many states, where lived various communities who followed their own customs and traditions.

Up to V century A.D. all the territory of Dagestan was the unit of Caucasian Albania, but later its southern part passed under the dominion of the Persians, and the Khazars conquered the other part.

In the middle of VII century the Khazars formed their own state named Khazar Khanate. But this change of government lasted only till Arabs have come to Dagestan.

A new course entitled "History of the Muslim American Experience" will be taught this winter for the first time at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

The move reflects growing interest and student demand for Muslim-American and Arab-American studies at the university.

There is also a push to create a minor degree in Arab American Studies at the university, which was approved last week unanimously by the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters Executive Committee.
